I was not quite satisfied with my own appearance until I saw Ugly Betty. I was not judging her according to her appearance, she inspired me.

In the school, I was always the one who passes the notes to those popular girls for cute guys. I am a teenage girl who hopes for the best though I know that is not likely to happen. I help others wholeheartedly without wanting anything in return. Still, I am too generic to be noticed.

Betty is the cure to my disease. She wears glasses and so do I, people say that the eyeglasses just kill a girl’s charming, but I think it illustrates her inner beauty. When she appears on the screen I said: wow! Here comes a girl from neighbor. She is not beautiful, far from beautiful compared to the twenty eighth floor sticks, but she is not afraid of being herself.

A little over weight, a lot screw ups, but she is managed to get her boss, the play boy Daniel out of trouble every time. She is homely but she possesses the personality others seldom have. I was desperate for a period of time, taking it wrong that the society saved all the great opportunity for the good looking ones, how absurd wrong!

She is brave enough to tell the guy she has a crush on how she feels. I met a guy several days ago, he gives me a feeling that nobody has ever given me before. We are sort of friends; I am summoning my courage to find a right moment to tell him.

Betty is not pretty but she is lucky. May be she deserves the success. Giving up, giving in is not what she does. The funny look of her makes others laugh and she seems not bothered at all. She has friends she could talk with, she forgives those who have hurt her or made fun of her, even used her before.

She is a lovely girl. You can’t change your appearance, while actually you can, but you can impress others by your personal mojo. I remember a pretty girl says to her: Betty, you are so special, if some one falls for you, it’s for real.

I got out the shadow at once. Put on my eyeglasses, chin up and tell myself, I am an attractive, confident girl, I don’t car what others think about.
